Edward S. Petry is the Executive Director and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ethics Officer Association (EOA), an international nonprofit association based in Belmont, MA whose members represent more than half of the Fortune 100.

At the EOA, Dr. Petry has overseen the development of what are recognized as the premier conferences and training programs in the business ethics field. He has developed partnerships between the EOA and the World Bank and the U.S. Sentencing Commission and he is now leading an effort to create a global Business Conduct Management System Standard. Dr. Petry’s recommendations were included in the Exchange’s final report.

He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Pennsylvania State University and has also received degrees in philosophy from The University of Toronto and Trinity College. Prior to becoming the EOA’s first full-time director, Dr. Petry was a tenured professor of philosophy at Bentley College and a Visiting Professor at Clark University.

In addition to serving on the EOA’s Board, Dr. Petry is a member of the Ethics Oversight Committee for the United States Olympic Committee, is a Senior Fellow and member of the Advisory Board of the Ethics Resource Center Fellows Program, is a representative to the American National Standards Institute, and is a member of the Advisory Group currently reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines for Organizations. . . . short bio
